Brunchin’ in Ottawa.

Ottawa is jam-packed with amazing brunch and I love to hit up new local spots! In my opinion brunch does not need to be just a Sunday thing. Brunch is a good idea any day of the week, especially if you want to avoid long waits. Here are my top 10 Ottawa brunch favourites in no particular order…

1. Wilf & Ada’s | 510 Bank Street

Perfect location for a bright sunny morning, the food at Wilf & Ada’s tastes farm fresh. The restaurant is quaint so honestly, I’d suggest hitting this spot during the week instead of trying to get there for Sunday brunch. I recommend the avocado eggs, so delicious. | wilfandadasascratchdiner

2. Chesterfield’s Gastro Diner | 1433 Wellington Street

This quaint family-style diner serves the best brunch sides – which you’ll understand when you look at their menu. We checked this place out during the week and we hardly had to wait. I can imagine it gets pretty busy on the weekends. |

3. Baker Street Cafe | 385 Richmond Road

Another Westboro spot to check out, this place does not disappoint! A long wait to get in, but the manager came around while we were waiting in line to hand out some home made muffins. The food was super fresh and delicious, lovely fresh fruit and tasty crepes. And even some gluten free options for my friend with celiac which is usually tough with brunch. | Baker-Street-Cafe

4. Copper Spirits & Sights | 325 Dalhousie Street

The last Sunday of every month the rooftop bar at the Andaz Byward Market serves a tasty brunch spread with tastings delivered to your table (on hold due to COVID 19). They call it “Rooftop Beats + Brunch” – a boujee brunch with gorgeous Ottawa views and a live DJ, this brunch did not disappoint. | rooftop-beats-brunch

5. Pressed | 750 Gladstone Avenue

My go-to brunch spot for waffles – especially chicken & waffles in Ottawa. Pressed has an awesome selection of savoury waffles on their menu along with other yummy brunch choices. |

6. The Rowan | 915 Bank Street

A Glebe staple, the Rowan offers yummy brunch by the same brother’s that own Fraser Cafe (currently closed due to COVID 19). I have never enjoyed so much green on my plate for brunch as much as I did on my eggs benedict. It makes for some fresh and healthy choices |

7. Art Is In Bakery | 250 City Centre Drive

I love Art Is In breakfast. Their avocado toast is super hearty and their maple lattes are my favourite. If you are looking for a take home option they bake delicious fresh bread and lots of beautiful pastries. |

8. The Vanitea Room | 551 Somerset

A perfect spot for a boozy brunch. They offer bottomless mimosas and delicious food options. They also have a huge selection of teas to accompany an English-style high tea.|

9. Allo! Mon Coco | 2277 Riverside Drive

This Quebec chain has an Ottawa location at Billings Bridge Mall. They have beautiful fruit speads with yummy sweet & savoury waffles and crepes along with plenty of eggs benedict choices. Reminds me a lot of Cora’s…|

10. Father & Sons | 112 Osgoode Street

Our go-to spot on Sunday mornings when we lived in residence at uOttawa, FnS has the best $5 breakfast around. Perfect for university students, but also if you are looking for a quick cheap breakfast on your way out of the city. |
